Hi guys, I know it’s been awhile since my last blog entry. Typing nowadays has become much slower for me as I do not get any of practises during the holidays as compared to during the semester where I got lots of assignment to type.
Been quite a meaningful week for me with class bbq/camp-over, job enquiry and so much more other things, lets start with the bbq/camp-over since I named it first. I miss T1A3 by the way, it was so much fun hanging around with them at ECP (East Coast Park), having a barbeque and the camp-over. Let’s start with the beginning since I think everything should have a beginning and end.
Firstly, on Tuesday, I went down to Parkway’s Giant and some other shops to buy all the stuff required for the bbq, stuff like tongs, charcoal/fire-starter, food and all the other barangs together with Von, Aisya, KS, KX and Pam. Starting I thought it was going to be easy since like we have 3 girls on the shopping team, but then I found out that out of the 6 of us, I was the only one who sort of had a better idea of how to buy stuff (Not saying I very good, but well, its like I’m more experience perhaps due to me taking Home Econs for my “O”s. So well, we bought all the stuff that you would normally see at bbq, chicken wings, hotdogs, fillet, sotong and stuff. Then Von saw the sting ray on the rack and was asking if we could have sting ray for bbq, then I was like if we have excess money to buy, and guess what we did have extras and we bought the sting ray, here is the part whereby I tell you guys a very funny thing, the uncle was very nice to help us pick a nice sting ray but when we told him no need when he asked if we wanted him to help us chop the sting ray up, he gave us a don’t regret look man, I was like thinking to myself just because we are teens does not mean that we don’t know how to deal with it, I got go and learn from all my relatives who can cook one hor…
So we paid for the stuff before heading down to Von’s place to prepare the food, cleaning the sotong and stuff, I was quite stress considering that everyone was looking at me while I cleaned the fillet and the sotong. I quite becoming like a Martin Yan, but hey guys, next time if we are having a bbq or gathering, please don’t look at me like I some expert cause I am not yah, it just adds on the pressure for me. So I gave some ideas on how to deal with the chicken wings and all the other stuff, it took quite awhile with occasional questions from Pam regarding the sotong and stuff, so I offered a little points here and there, except I still can’t really explain the transparent thingy in the sotong. But who cares, I go around and find out more first.
So after preparing the stuff we head home to rest and prepare for next day. So on Wednesday, we went to Von’s place again to help her marinate the sting ray and stuff before bringing them down to ECP. When we reached there the wind was super strong that when we took out the tent, the tent almost flew away. But well, after the cooperation among us T1A3 classmates, we manage to pitch the tent and I would say it was quite stable as it did not collapse. So we started the bbq at around 5, but it did not work out as the fore was not entirely started and thus we can’t bbq anything. Then we also found out that we left the margarine at Von’s place, so in the end, KX, Eric and Von have to head back home to take the stuff we forgot, so when they were gone, we tried to bbq some stuff when we found that it does not work as the food will stick to the grill, so instead of bbq-ing, I tried to get a better and stronger flame, so I tried starting the fire as the earlier one didn’t really reach the intensity I was looking for. So I started another one with all the others behind me chatting and entertaining themselves, haha, then I heard Krys say that guys start fire will take a long time one, but when a guy start fire still not that bad, so hehe, I guess a guy do not have to have company in order to make something work. So in the end, I did mange to get a fire started, but seriously man, it was hard work. Just when the fire started, Von, KX and Eric came back with the stuff, what luck, and because the flame would have to be started again if they were later coz I is already dying trying to keep the flame going.
So we had stuff to eat thanks to poor Pam who was so kindly looking after everyone, ensuring that all got their share until I believe she herself did not eat much. So halfway through, the girls went to Von’s place to shower, while the rest of the guys stayed behind to help clean up the pit. When they came back the area was sort of already cleared, I mean I do not expect them to clean after they shower right. So yup, it was all cleaned by the time they came back. Then we headed down to the beach with a mat and sat there and started playing songs. Supposedly, Aisya was playing until I joined them (Sorry Aisya, took your fun away) Anyway, we played a few songs until I went to take a shower, the experience was fun man, showering at 11-12am, the water was cooling man, serious. I went back to the campsite and continued playing songs, until we decided to play cards and tell ghost story, hehe, but we did not really said much as we then cycled down to Bedok jetty trying to catch some couple smooching, but to no avail.
So we went further towards the other end of ECP, that was when we saw couples making out in the car, used tissue paper, fogged up car windows, newspaper covering the window and car rocking, boy, you wished you had been there man. So after that, we headed back down to camp and laid ourselves on the beach under the moon, it was like right place, right atmosphere, wrong people, haiz, what to do?? But it was not that bad lah. So we waited there until 430am when we headed down to Macs to buy breakfast before heading back to sit at the breakwater to eat breakfast. Then we went back to the beach where most of us waited for the sunrise, I went to take a nap. Hehe, what to do, tired lah, that was when we woke up at around 6 to noticed that there was no sunrise, cause it was cloudy in the sky, so I woke everyone up to start packing and I would say we did a quick job, clearing up, when we noticed we got bluff, the sky cleared up and haiz, what to do not fated to see lah…
So we hang around waiting for the bike shop to open so that we can return the bike, KX took a few pics of a blocked sunrise due to clouds, and Thea and Sean keeping each other company in each other’s arms in such a wonderful backdrop (Ok guys, lets hear it. 1..2..3.. Aw….. lol) That was when Zhong Hui, gave me a car ride back home but not before sending Pam back. That is the bbq..
The job enquiry went quite well, it was for a job to be a musician at a pub. Sort of suits my style, acoustic kind of music and in a pub some more, now I’m currently waiting for good news, so guys, if I get the job, must come support ah..
By the way, did I mentioned I tasted my first beer liaoz?? I tried Heineken, Stout, Kilkenny, Hoeegarden, Stella Artoise (Whatever you spell it). On different occasions, but guys, I’ not going to make drinking my past time yah, its just for fun. Haiz, I guess some might have already dozed off reading so, I think I’ll stop here. See you guys till next time.
