Philosophy
Well, I have decided to make my blog one whereby I can talk about my point of view on certain topics. Topics like money, social issues and many other matters which might have brought trouble to many out there... this is the second entry so far, the first was about money, and today, I would be talking about forgiveness towards people and also to oneself�.
You may think why I am talking about forgiveness out of so many other topics which are available�. You can say that it is due to the experience of being unforgiving towards people which resulted in my own personal short-comings�. (Sad.., I know). Why do I say that?? Well, its because people have been telling me that I have been very stubborn and short fused recently, which I thing is true because I have found myself getting upset at practically everything that other people do�.
Thus, I went on a self evaluation of why I�m being so short fused� and the answer is very clear, I have harbor this unforgiveness for certain people that resulted in me being affected so badly in my own personal life.. This is very amazing, why unforgiveness can cause such a huge change in people. I guess it�s due to the fact that you might actually be thinking about revenge and hatred for this person that you think of ways which you can get back at him/her. But by doing so, many have overlooked the fact that because of that, one become affected by it. Exact detail of why it is so, has always been a question I asked myself� and I have been unable to find the reason for it.
Like a book I readed written by a priest in Canada who goes around preaching and working as the servant of God. He said this: �Many thinks that by forgiving means to lose out, but actually it he is a winner. Because it instead brings us nearer to Jesus.� And I guess its true because it frees us from all this chains that bonds us to the devil. Once Peter asked our Lord, if someone were to wrong us, how many times must we forgive him?? Seven times?? But the Lord said, not seven, but seventy seven times.(Matt 18:21-22)
Thus we should try to follow this instruction, though its hard� But is it not worth it if we benefit from this?? At least we would not be short-fused, stubborn, resentment and we might even be having many other problems, such as sleepless nights thinking of revenge or just thinking about the matter.
But however, I feel that before one forgives, he or she has to first admit that the unforgiveness could also be due to certain things which he/she might have done, which thus resulted in the whole problem� Here is a testimony from a brother who forgave: �One day I felt the Lord asking me to forgive a person who have done me a lot of harm, as I did not want to give up the chance of taking revenge, I put up a resistance saying �Lord, why do you want me to pray for him when you are so good that you will bless him even if I do not ask you too�� A voice in me said �Foolish man, don�t you realized that by praying for him, the first to be healed is you?�
So well, I guess if even we have a whole lot of unforgiveness and hatred in us, we should just pray for the assistance from God so that we can forgive our enemies, because I think we are too weak alone to forgive. So we need the grace of God.
So what are we waiting for?? Forgive all those who might have wronged us or caused certain hurt in us.
